The external viewers are completely customizable in the Beta 1
release. Mosaic creates temporary files in the "Temporary Items" folder if available, otherwise in the "System Folder". Files that are not saved automatically (user is asked for file name), are not
deleted.
Making the External Viewers Work
The external viewers are applications such as TeachText, Photoshop, Simple Player etc. In order for NCSA Mosaic to recognize which viewer to launch the document Must have an extension on the file name which identifies its type The document is given the extension when is created by the Author. text window.
- Holding an option key down whenever new document is opened
creates a new window.
- To open local html files and view them as hypertext, give them
.html extension.
- You can have inline images in PICT format. Use .pict extension.
