External Viewers

To view external files, use the following viewers: FTP Sites: This is a comprehensive listing of anonymous FTP sites. This listing is not being actively maintained; it is provided as a proof-of-concept. We encourage others to maintain such a listing and make it available to the network. The external viewers are completely customizable in the Beta 1 release. Mosaic creates temporary files in the "Temporary Items" folder if available, otherwise in the "System Folder". Files that are not saved automatically (user is asked for file name), are not deleted.

Making the External Viewers Work

The external viewers are applications such as TeachText, Photoshop, Simple Player etc. In order for NCSA Mosaic to recognize which viewer to launch the document Must have an extension on the file name which identifies its type The document is given the extension when is created by the Author.
